Solo: A Star Wars Story's Lando - A Use Case For Human-Machine Relations

Yellow Bulldog

Chill & Hip Hop™ went to the movies this week.  We paid for our team and four couples who were undecided about seeing Solo: A Star Wars Story.  We paid, so off to the auditorium we all went--after a stop by the concession stand.

Chill & Hip Hop™ says - “Watch the new trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story and see it in theaters beginning May 25.”

Solo: A Star Wars Story introduces us to another new set of characters.  This is obviously necessary so as to ensure the back story actually sustains movie goers' and fans' interest.  A few familiar faces in the movie; however, the best and most interesting is Glover, who plays the role of Lando Calrissian.

Solo: A Star Wars Story - Red Carpet Opening

We were first introduced to Lando Calrissian, then, played by Billy Dee Williams, in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.  Rumors in the UK have it that Glover's Lando has opened up the opportunity for Billy Dee Williams to return in Star Wars 9.  Let's get back to Solo.

"Solo" A Star Wars Story

FIJI Screening

This installment of Star Wars does all of us a huge favor: shows an android (robot+Artificial Intelligence) with characteristics identical to those of us humans.  We are injected into an ongoing and obviously festering set of unresolved issues.

The android and Glover's character, Lando, have obviously experienced a great deal together and as a result a human-to-machine and machine-to-human bond has formed.  Is it a romantic bond?  See the movie and let us know.

Until next time, see you on the radio.
